Dena Prastos
Dena Prastos, AIA, NCARB, WEDG, is an Architect, futurist, and creative original, with transdisciplinary and progressive views. She is inspired by the overlapping of design, technology, and nature. Born and raised in Anchorage, Alaska, Dena has a deep-rooted appreciation for nature and mankind’s ability to design, build, and create infrastructure in some of the world’s toughest conditions. She has lead projects around the world conducting heavy civil construction, marine engineering, and waterfront architecture. Dena’s unique experiences helped shape her vision, competency, and progressive views to ultimately launch her firm, Indigo River, specializing in waterfront consulting with a specific focus on resiliency, sustainability, and progressive responses to sea level rise.
Dena completed a 5-year Bachelor of Architecture program at New Jersey Institute of Technology, where she subsequently completed a graduate degree in civil engineering. After gaining valuable experience in the industry, Dena attended and successfully completed Harvard Business School’s “Leading Professional Service Firms” Executive Education program. She resides in the New York metro area with her husband, Nick, where they enjoy restoring their 160-year-old riverfront home, playing tennis, and sailing the Hudson.
